We haven't heard that the tool cannot be carried in hand luggage. However, since it is indeed a sharp object, we would advise you to not carry the tool in your hand luggage, but in your suitcase instead.

If you’re not happy with your strap you can return your order within 30 days. We only accept unworn straps in return in the original package. Please take note that returning your order is at your own expense.
